We had a great time at the Piney Woods Quilt Festival this past weekend, meeting lots of new people and introducing them to the wonders of Terial Magic while sharing the Silhouette love! We had samples on hand in our booth of the many different ways the Silhouette machines can be used but the highlight was on cutting fabric.
My mom made this beautiful quilt for the “Birds of a Feather” challenge. All the appliqués were cut on the Cameo. I think it turned out great!
The “Flutterby” pattern from Another by Anita was used to make this butterfly wall hanging. The pattern was traced in Silhouette Studio and then all pieces of the butterfly were cut on the Cameo. Easy-peasy!
Make & Take hair clips were very popular with all the young ladies who toured the quilt show after the Mommy & Me Tea Party (an annual event sponsored by Carthage Main Street). Each one used two flower shapes (made from fabric stabilized with Terial Magic and cut on the Silhouette) embellished with a small button and attached to the clip with a small piece of cloth-covered floral wire.
And of course, what demonstration of Terial Magic and fabric-cutting would be complete without our lovely “All a Flutter” pillow (pattern by Chitter Chatter Designs)!
We had so much fun and both days flew by quickly. We are already looking forward to the 2018 show!!!
Do you cut fabric on your Silhouette? If not, what’s stopping you? If SVG files were included with appliqué patterns (or could be purchased separately) would you be more likely to try cutting the pieces on the Silhouette? Leave your answers in the comments – I’d love to know!
