My first vendor event is coming up and I couldn’t be more excited! The Piney Woods Quilt Festival is scheduled for April 21 & 22, 2017 at the Carthage Civic Center. I’ll be there with all my Silhouette machines and goodies demonstrating how to cut fabric on an electronic cutter using Terial Magic as a stabilizer. I’ll also be showcasing many other things created with the help of the Silhouette – not just fabric!
My mom is very active in both of the Panola County quilt clubs and has been involved with the festival since it’s inception in 2004 when it was held at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Each year she and the other club members work tirelessly to produce an event that helps bring attention to area quilters and makes our small town proud. I was among the 300+ people who attended that first show, so it’s a real treat for me to now be on the “other side” of the activity.
In 2012, the show was moved to the Civic Center and enjoyed a record-setting attendance of over 700 quilt lovers.

The theme for the 2017 challenge quilt is “Birds of a Feather” (and let’s just say there may be at least one entry that utilizes the Silhouette). There will be plenty of door prizes throughout both days as well as live demos on topics and products including:
- Quick & Easy Quilts
- Controlled Binding
- Disappearing Stripes
- Arrowhead Technique
- Shortcut Hexagons
- Fusible Applique
- Microwave Potato Bag
- Accuquilt Go Cutter
- Premier Designs Jewelry
- Essential Oils
- and of course…Fabric Cutting on the Silhouette!
If you’re in the East Texas area during the 4th weekend of April, I hope you’ll make time to visit the show. The doors are open from 9am – 5pm on Friday and 9am – 4pm on Saturday. Admission is only $5. Not only will there be beautiful quilts on display and vendors to satisfy your retail therapy needs, but you’re sure to enjoy a bit of Southern hospitality while you’re here!

Thanks so much for sharing the news of the quilt show!!
My pleasure!
