16 Free Patriotic Files for Silhouette, Cricut, and More!

July 4th is just around the corner! Will you be using your Silhouette or Cricut machine to do any red, white, and blue crafting? Or maybe you’re creating something special with sublimation or embroidery? Whatever patriotic crafts you have in mind, here are some FREE patriotic SVG files – and more – to get you started!

4th of July Subway Art
This 4th of July Subway Art from Main Road Digital Creations comes in several formats, including a DXF file which can be used with the Standard (free) edition of Silhouette Studio, SVG for Designer Edition and up (or other brands of cutting machines), and PNG for printable projects including sublimation.
US Flag Flip Flops
Layer this flip flop design from Printable Cuttable Creatables “as-is” using multiple colors of HTV or alter the design and use some Sparkleberry patriotic HTV in the patterned areas. Be sure to check out the PDF instructions that come with the file to see the different variations.
DIY Patriotic Decor
Don’t you just love these patriotic table decorations from Daily Dose of DIY??? The glitter cardstock gives them an extra special touch and lots of sparkle! (Download hint – once you enter the Resource Library, the freebies are in alphabetical order under SVG Files. This one is listed as DIY Patriotic Decor.)

Angie over at Burton Ave offers a ton of freebies on her site. Sign up for her newsletter to make sure you don’t miss a single one, including this All American Cutie file!
DIY Patriotic Earrings
Whether you’re adding a bit of jazz to your patriotic attire or creating a Captain America vibe, these faux leather earrings are fun to make! You’ll find a full tutorial – and the free cut file – here.
USA Flag Flip Flops Embroidery Design
Who says freebies are just for digital cutters? I know lots of Silhouette and Cricut crafters who also have embroidery machines and I didn’t want to leave you out! This USA Flag Flip Flops design from Apex Embroidery would look great on tote bags or as a chest logo on t-shirts.
Oh My Stars & Fireworks SVG Files
When I saw these free cut files by Pineapple Paper Co., it was too hard to pick just one. Use the Oh My Stars design by itself or add the fireworks for some extra pop (pun intended!).
All American Patriotic Bundle
Design Bundles is a great source for not only free SVG files but printable designs as well. This All American Patriotic Bundle includes free SVG cut files, DXF files, and files in PNG format.
Use them with your Silhouette Cameo, Silhouette Portrait, Cricut Maker, Cricut Explore, or any other brand of cutting machine to cut vinyl or in any type of printable project, including sublimation. (A commercial license is included too!)
DIY Paper Lanterns
Hey Let’s Make Stuff has another version of DIY paper lanterns, perfect for either indoor or outdoor decor. Be sure to check out her Patriotic Pinwheels too!
To use this file with your Silhouette cutting machine:
1. Open the SVG in Silhouette Studio.
2. Ungroup.
3. Delete the horizontal cut line from each of the large colored rectangles (these are score lines designed for the Cricut machine). After the pieces are cut, you will fold them by hand.
4. Group all parts of each color group back together (i.e. select all parts of the blue section and group, then repeat for the red section and the white section.
5. Cut each of the color groups from coordinating paper or cardstock and cut the light grey rectangles from vellum.
