Are you someone who can’t wait to put up your holiday decorations? Do you start playing Christmas songs before the last trick-or-treater is tucked in on Halloween night? Or do you subscribe to a more last-minute style, waiting to put up your Christmas tree until Christmas Eve?
I fall somewhere in the middle. While I might have thoughts of Christmas swirling in my head in early November, I’m not fully in the yuletide spirit until the day after Thanksgiving. But since our Creative Cutters group doesn’t meet in December, I got my holiday spirit on a bit early this year and enjoyed every minute of it!
We had quite a large group this month and I was super-excited to have several young people join us. A couple of our young ladies have been coming for several months now and have been having so much fun that their friends wanted to take part too!
We also had another first-time attendee who had never seen a Silhouette before. She had fun, did a great job on her projects, and plans to join us again in the future (YAY!). Watching our little group grow and seeing relationships develop among our members is so encouraging to me. I enjoy sharing the Silhouette love with anyone and everyone!
Our projects for the month were holiday-themed soap dispensers and poinsettia tea lights.
The soap dispensers were made with designs from the Silhouette Design Store, cut from Oracal 651, and applied to clear soap dispensers that can be purchased online or from your local discount store or dollar store. It was a great project to practice our layering skills!

When the soap dispensers were finished, we turned our attention to a paper project. This simple to make poinsettia tea light is Silhouette Design Store ID #234517. Wouldn’t it be cute to make several and display them on your holiday table or scattered all around the house?

The evening would certainly not be complete without door prizes! Debbie P. was so excited to win this month’s Silhouette Mint. Thank you Silhouette America for your generosity and sponsorship.
Even though a couple of our members were camera-shy, we still managed to get a nice group photo. You know how much I love seeing those smiling faces at the end of the evening!!!
Creative Cutters is taking a break for the holidays but will resume on January 15, 2019 and I’ve got a unique project already planned for us. If you’re in the area I’d love for you to come and see what we’re all about. We have a great time being together, practicing our skills, and learning a little more about the Silhouette machines along the way.
