Mother’s Day is just around the corner and if your mom is anything like mine, she much prefers a handmade gift or card over anything I could buy in a store. And you know I’m going to try to use my Silhouette any way I can! Many of the projects I’ve shared before on the blog can be modified to make a wonderful Mother’s Day gift. Here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

Faux Leather Earrings
Use a purchased design or create your own using this tutorial from Christine at cuttingforbusiness.com.
Personalized Ceramic Tile
There are many great word art files to choose from in the Silhouette Design Store like this one from Jennifer Wambach or you can add your own text.
Glass Bead Magnets
Use photos of your kids, pretty clipart, or Print & Cut designs from the Silhouette Design Store.
String Art
Your choice of colors and design will make this a unique gift and creating a pattern for the nails is easy with the help of the Rhinestone Tool.
Etched Glass
This project is always a hit! Create your own design or use one like this from the Silhouette Design Store and turn an inexpensive candle holder into a treasured gift.
Rolled Flower Frame
For the decal in this tutorial, I purchased an SVG of a mason jar and then added my own text. Perform a Google search using the term “mason jar SVG” and you’ll find plenty of options. To make the project even easier, use pre-designed word art.
Decorated Candle
Tattoo paper is not just for your skin! I decorated this candle with a Print & Cut design from the Silhouette Design Store but you could use a photograph, clipart, or even text.
Handmade Card
It’s no secret that I LOVE Lori Whitlock’s card files but there are also several other options in the Silhouette Design Store. Start with a purchased file and then add your own creative touches.
Rhinestones
Does your mom like bling? Add some rhinestones to a shirt or bag using either a purchased design or one of your own making.
Custom Stamp
If you own a Mint, make Mom a custom stamp that will remind her of you every time she uses it. Choose a design from the free ones that come with the Mint or create one of your own.
Bonus Ideas!
If Mom is a Silhouette user, check out these posts that list plenty of other gift ideas. And if YOU are the mom, share the posts with your own family as a suggestion of what you’d like to receive!
